Melody Rodsuwan, Ascension Marketing Specialist interviewed Allison Willis, Ascension Accounts Payable Specialist to hear more about how her property visit went at Windsor Manor with Andy Benavides, Community Manager and how Ascension Accounting and Community Managers work together.
What did you learn from Andy? – I learned how the property walks units. We took pictures of the units under renovation to double check that all of the work that vendors were billing us for was completed. Learned how they process invoices from and the steps it takes to make sure that invoices are processed correctly in a timely manner. I saw how they juggle resident requests and navigate complaints to ensure the resident feels heard.
How does Accounting work with Community Managers? Accounts Payable works with community managers to make sure all invoices are correct & that their vendors are getting paid. It is important that we are in constant communication so we can ensure that the work has been completed before we release payment to the vendors.
What do you hope everyone take away from this? I hope that it helps community managers feel more comfortable with reaching out to me with any questions or concerns so we can work as a team and make each other’s work life easier. Sometimes it is hard to read someone’s tone through email or teams messages & having one on one interactions with everyone on property helped me put a name to a face as well as get to know them better. It helped me to see the process of walking units and to see all of the legwork (LITERALLY) it takes to keep the property running like a well-oiled machine.
