At Ascension, Corporate Accounting and On-Site Operations work closely together, sharing data and aligning on performance so the company can make financially sound decisions and keep growing. To understand each other's work better, Chrysa Lee, a Business Support Specialist in Accounting, spent a day with Dario Quezada, Community Manager at Haven at Briargrove. Chrysa got a firsthand look at his day-to-day, and the two traded ideas for improving their shared workflows.

Dario's day starts with a morning Teams meeting, where he sets the action plan for the week and addresses any urgent issues. Beginning this way gives the day a structured, positive tone. From there, he enters invoices into RealPage (OPS), a step Accounting values because it bridges financial reporting and day-to-day performance. Throughout the day, Dario also handles resident relations, approves applications, coordinates with vendors, manages maintenance and make-readies, and inspects units for touch-up cleaning ahead of move-ins.

As Chrysa learned more about Dario's routine, the visit became a two-way exchange. Dario walked her through how he completes month-end close-outs from an operations perspective, while Chrysa showed him how she uses Excel reports and filtering to close out faster. Together they completed a "perfect" close-out, meaning every charge, credit, move-in, move-out, delinquency balance, concession, and resident ledger correction is entered before month-end. It's a clear example of Corporate Accounting and On-Site Operations working hand-in-hand.
